You never forget your first! Here are a few of the entries we received from the contest last month for the Victorinox 2010 media kit!

Longtime readers here will know that I have never been a fan of what I refer to as “Electronic SAKs” and yet last month I posted an article about my appreciation of a 1g SwissMemory model. Since then, I couldn't help but obtain a 1g SwissBeat mp3 player knife, but perhaps not for the reasons anyone was expecting!

At this year's SHOT Show in Las Vegas Wenger was nice enough to show me their new models, and the ones that caught my eye the most were the yellow Patagonian Expedition models. Having been fascinated with the yellow EVOGrip 18 released two years ago, and the different colored New Rangers released last year, I'd been hoping for a yellow New Ranger this year. Wenger didn't disappoint me, although they didn't do it the way I'd expected!

There have been rumors for some time now about a new tool from Victorinox. Some think it's a new plier tool like the Spirit, while others believe the rumors were in reference to the new Dual Pro model, but I know different! From a source deep within Victorinox, I obtained documented evidence that proves the new tool is based on the Spirit! For those who don't believe me, check out the new versions here: http://www.sosakonline.com/images/stories/April_10/road_spirit.pdf

Wenger fans rejoice! Wenger now has a Youtube channel all to themselves! You can see the Wenger Channel here: http://www.youtube.com/user/wengerna1 Keep your eyes peeled for new videos in the future!

A few weekends ago with my family went to a beach in northern Chile (Temblador Beach, La Serena), the place is very beautiful and peaceful. Driving on the beach I could see traces (Garbage) of previous visitors, then came to my mind, as could transform salt water (sea) in fresh water (drinkable) with the residues found.

If you've been on the forums lately you have seen some interesting new colors appearing in some members' collections- Green, orange and blue ALOX models have been showing up, and for some reason they seem to be mostly coming from South Africa!

Ok, so it's not a Swiss Army Knife. That much should be obvious, but it should be of interest to any SAK collector because of it's SAK-like functions, and the fact that they are reasonably hard to find. I should know- I've been searching for one for years, and I finally found it on our own EDCSource of all places!

Since it's initial release last year the new Wenger Mike Horn model has gotten a fair bit of attention- something Mike Horn himself has been doing for years! Mike's history is long and reads like a Clive Cussler novel- from paragliding to mountain climbing to cycling to sailing, Mike appears to have done it all.

Welcome to the Swiss participation in Korea

The demilitarised zone (DMZ) between North and South Korea. Lets learn what it's like to be one of five Swiss army officers keeping watch on one of the world's political hotspots.
